🔒 100% Local & Private Storage: Daily Checklist & Widget is an offline-first application. All your task titles, checklists, notes, priorities, and custom colors are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted to any external server managed by us.
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Daily Checklist & Widget ("the Application") collects, uses, and protects information when you install and use the mobile app on Android devices. We value your privacy and design our application with a privacy-first, offline architecture.
2. Data Collection and Device Storage
Daily Checklist & Widget operates locally on your mobile device using an encrypted local SQLite database:
- Checklist & Task Content: All checklists, task names, descriptions, priorities, due dates, and custom theme selections remain stored 100% locally on your smartphone.
- No Account Required: You can use all features without signing up, creating an account, or logging in.
- Import and Export: Data backups (JSON) or spreadsheet exports (CSV) are stored directly in your local device storage or shared through applications you explicitly choose (such as Google Drive or Email).
3. Permissions Used
To provide full functionality, push reminders, and widget capabilities, the Application requests the following Android system permissions:
INTERNET
Used to display advertisements from Google AdMob and query official app update status from the Google Play Store.
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE
Checks active network connectivity before requesting ad content or checking Google Play Store updates.
POST_NOTIFICATIONS
Required on Android 13+ to send you local push notifications for task due date reminders you schedule.
VIBRATE
Triggers haptic feedback and alert vibrations when task due date reminders arrive.
WAKE_LOCK
Ensures scheduled task reminders wake up your device reliably even when the screen is off.
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED
Automatically reschedules your pending local task reminders whenever your device reboots.
4. Third-Party Services and Analytics
The Application uses trusted third-party SDKs to support advertising, push reminders, and app update checks. These third parties may collect anonymous technical information as governed by their respective privacy policies:

Serves banner, native, and interstitial advertisements. AdMob may collect device identifiers (such as the Android Advertising ID) and non-precise location data to serve relevant ads.

5. Data Control and Deletion
You maintain complete control over all your data at all times:
- You can edit or permanently delete any task, checklist, or completed task at any time inside the app.
- Uninstalling the Application instantly and permanently deletes all stored checklists and tasks from your device.
- You can reset app storage anytime via Android Settings > Apps > Daily Checklist & Widget > Storage > Clear Data.
6. Children's Privacy (COPPA & GDPR)
The Application is designed for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU). All checklist data remains strictly on the user's local device.
