Privacy Policy
PDF Scanner Toolkit
Effective Date: August 30, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how PDF Scanner Toolkit ("the App", "we", "our", or "us") handles information when you use the application.
We designed PDF Scanner Toolkit as a document-scanning and PDF utility. The core scanning workflow is designed to process documents locally on your Android device.
1. Information We Access
Depending on the features you use, the App may access information and device resources required to provide its functionality.
Camera
The App requests camera access so that you can capture paper documents and scan them into digital pages.
Camera access is used only when you use the document-scanning functionality. The App does not use the camera to continuously monitor you.
Documents and Images
When you choose to import or save files, the App may access the files or images that you explicitly select through the Android file or media selection mechanisms.
These files are used to perform operations such as scanning, cropping, enhancement, OCR, PDF creation, previewing, and sharing.
2. Document Processing
PDF Scanner Toolkit provides local document-processing features. These may include:
- Document scanning
- Image cropping and perspective correction
- Image enhancement
- Rotation
- Multi-page document processing
- PDF creation
- Text recognition (OCR)
- PDF preview and export
The App's resources describe scanning, enhancement, OCR, and PDF creation as on-device processing. Your document content is not intentionally transmitted to our own server for these core operations.
3. OCR and Text Recognition
The App may use text-recognition technology to extract readable text from scanned pages.
OCR is provided to help you extract text from documents you scan. Recognized text is used to provide the requested functionality, such as displaying or copying extracted text.
OCR accuracy may vary depending on document quality, lighting, handwriting, fonts, image resolution, and other factors.
4. Files and Storage
When you create a PDF, the resulting file may be saved to storage locations selected or provided by Android and the App.
The App may maintain recent-scan information or temporary files on your device to provide features such as recent documents and document management.
The App provides an option to clear temporary files through its settings where supported.
5. Sharing
If you choose to share a scanned document or PDF, Android's sharing functionality may provide the selected file to the application you choose.
Once a file is shared with another application, its handling is governed by that application's privacy policy and terms.
6. Advertising
PDF Scanner Toolkit may display advertisements using third-party advertising services, including Google Mobile Ads.
Advertising providers may collect or process certain information such as advertising identifiers, device-related information, approximate location, diagnostic information, or interaction information in accordance with their own policies and applicable Android and Google settings.
We do not control the information collected directly by third-party advertising providers. Their collection and use of information is governed by their respective privacy policies.
7. Notifications
The App may request notification permission so that it can provide supported notifications, such as app updates, reminders, or other useful information.
You can manage notification permissions through your Android device settings.
8. Third-Party Services
The App may use third-party libraries and services to provide advertising, notifications, application updates, app reviews, networking, and other supporting functionality.
Depending on how these services are configured and used in the released version of the App, third-party providers may process certain technical or usage-related information.
Examples of third-party services or SDK categories used by the App include:
- Google Mobile Ads
- Google Play application services
- Push notification services
- Application update and review services
- Networking libraries
- On-device text recognition technology
Third-party services may have their own privacy policies and information practices. We recommend reviewing the privacy documentation of the relevant service providers.
9. Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect
We do not intentionally collect or request the following as part of the core document-scanning functionality:
- Your scanned document content for our own server
- Your camera images for our own server
- Your OCR text for our own server
- Your contacts
- Your passwords
- Your financial account credentials
This statement applies to our own handling of information and does not prevent third-party services integrated into the App from collecting information according to their own policies.
10. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the information handled through the App.
Core document processing is designed to occur locally on your device, which helps limit unnecessary transmission of document content.
However, no method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
11. Data Retention and Deletion
Files created or imported through the App may remain on your device until you delete them or remove the App, depending on the Android storage location used.
You can delete documents and temporary files using the relevant functionality provided by the App or through Android's file management tools.
Information handled by third-party services is subject to the retention policies of those services.
12. Children's Privacy
PDF Scanner Toolkit is a general-purpose document utility and is not specifically directed toward children.
We do not knowingly request personal information from children for the purpose of creating user profiles or accounts.
13. Your Choices
You can control certain permissions and access through your Android device settings, including:
- Camera permission
- Notification permission
- File and media access where applicable
You may also delete files created by the App using the App's available controls or Android's file management features.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the App, its features, third-party services, or applicable legal requirements.
When changes are made, the updated policy will be published with a revised effective date.
15. Contact Us
If you have questions, concerns, or requests regarding this Privacy Policy, please contact us using the play store listing mail.
The information practices of the final published application must be accurately reflected in the Google Play Console Data Safety form. Third-party SDK behavior can change over time, so review the SDK documentation and your final release build before submitting the application.
