Privacy Policy

This privacy policy applies to the Savings Monitor application (herein referred to as "the Application") for mobile devices. The Application is provided as a Free service and is intended for use "AS IS".

1. Information Collection and Use

The Application is built with a Privacy-First, Offline-First philosophy. We do not require account creation, and we do not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name, email address, physical address, or phone number to our own servers.

All financial data, savings goals, transaction history, and notes you enter are stored exclusively on your local device. This data is kept in a secure, encrypted local database and never leaves your phone unless you choose to create a manual backup file.

2. Third-Party Services

To provide essential functionality and a free experience, the Application utilizes trusted third-party services that may collect information used to identify your device. These services include:

• Google Play Services: Facilitates app updates and core Android features.
• AdMob (Google Mobile Ads): Used to serve non-intrusive advertisements. AdMob may use device identifiers (like Advertising ID) to show relevant ads and prevent fraud.
• OneSignal: An opt-in service used to send push notifications regarding critical app updates or system maintenance.

3. Required Permissions

The Application requests the minimum permissions necessary to function safely and effectively:

• Internet Access: Required to load advertisements and check for mandatory system updates or maintenance status.
• Network State: Used to detect if your device is online to manage ad loading and data synchronization for ads.
• Notifications: Required to send you goal reminders and system alerts (Android 13+).

4. Data Retention and Deletion

Since all your data is stored locally, you have total control over your records. You can delete individual transactions or goals at any time. If you uninstall the Application, all data stored within it will be permanently removed from your device unless you have manually exported a backup file to another location.

5. Data Security

We take the security of your financial records seriously. The local database is encrypted using industry-standard protocols. However, please be aware that no security measure is impenetrable. We recommend securing your mobile device with a PIN, password, or biometric lock to prevent unauthorized access to your local data.

6. Children’s Privacy

The Application does not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided personal information via any third-party service integrated into our app, we will take steps to ensure it is deleted immediately.
